MMath (Hons) - University of Bath
Master's thesis: The Centre of the Enveloping Algebra of the Jacobson-Witt Algebra - Supervised by Professor Lewis Topley.
Research interests: Representation theory, algebraic geometry, modular Lie algebras, the KW1 conjecture, computer algebra.
I am currently looking for PhD opportunities in representation theory and algebraic geometry starting in August 2026.
Research
My current research topic is the representation theory of the Jacobson-Witt algebras - a family of simple Lie algebras in positive characteristic arising as the derivations of truncated polynomials. In my Master's Thesis under the supervision of Professor Lewis Topley, I studied central elements in the enveloping algebra of the Jacobson-Witt algebra, and used that to complete a description of the entire centre in the rank 1 case. I am currently working on generalising this method to higher ranks, and using SageMath to perform some computations, I have made some progress in rank 2 for low characteristic.
